In God We Trust, All Others We Monitor

The A-12 Oxcart represents a pioneering achievement in aeronautical engineering. Flying at more than three times the speed of sound (Mach 3.29) and at the edge of space (90,000 feet), the A-12 could look deeply into adversary territory without being seen. The intelligence collected by this extraordinary reconnaissance aircraft contributed significantly to U.S. strategic capabilities and pioneered stealth technology that would later be adapted for use in subsequent aircraft.
