SR-71 Blackbird Die-Cast Model
This 1:72 scale Die-Cast Model is the exact replica of the SR-71 on permanent display at the National Air and Space Museum. The plane was piloted by Lt. Col. Ed Yielding with RSO Lt. Col. Joseph Vida in the backseat. During the final flight, the aircraft broke four world speed records, including a US West Coast to East Coast time of just under one hour and eight minutes. Crafted from die-cast metal construction with some plastic components. Model features realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details with authentic markings and placard details. It also includes interchangeable extended or retractable landing gear with rotating wheels, and a metal display stand. Measures about 18”l with a wingspan of 9.25”.
