Since when is overpaying a status symbol?  There’s been a long-standing assumption that if something costs more, it must be better.  But is that really the case?  We decided to challenge that notion after multiple emails and requests from many customers asking us to remake the classic Commando, the “poor man’s ref 5517”, because of its affordability and solid ruggedness.   So we decided to offer something that was vintage inspired but a little bit more modern... and affordable.

The Aquamariner, is a loving homage that takes its DNA from two popular iconic dive watches, mixing retro and modern designs that suits the urban lifestyle.  It is not a duplicate but an amalgamation, and frankly it’s better that way. Does it do anything?  It tells the time but it also becomes part of your lifestyle and tells your history.  It’s a simple watch- one made of stainless steel with a simple winding movement inside with a coolness to yesteryear.   And while it has a lot to offer, including an increased water resistance, we still haven’t gotten to the best part yet—the price.  Our goal was to shatter the price barrier for watch enthusiasts looking to wear something affordable and classic.

Inside the 300-meter water-resistant 41mm stainless steel case beats a self-winding mechanical movement, the Miyota 9015, offering a power reserve of 42 hours.  Other key elements include slender, elongated beveled lugs with classic lines, and an anodized aluminum screw-down winding crown tube.  The satin-finished steel screw bracelet was designed to be both robust and comfortable.  Equipped with an ingenious slidelock allowing fine adjustments of the bracelet without using any tools - and allowing it to be worn and comfortably over a diving suit.

Equipped with an ingenious slidelock allowing fine adjustments of the bracelet without using any tools - and allowing it to be worn and comfortably over a diving suit.  The interchangeable bracelet and NATO strap also makes the watch highly versatile.  It’s a no worries watch for every situation that is distinguished by strong attention to detail and its keen reflection of past aesthetic codes with a lot of character and a lot of soul. Just iconic and timeless at the same time to match your modern lifestyle. The Aquamariner is a great value proposition — especially if you are someone on a constrained budget who wants a timepiece offering “bang for the buck.”

An alternative that breathes the same air as vintage/retro timepieces at a price that offers serious quality for value.
